Foriegn Policy: What Julia Swift and Amanda Davis Have to Say

By: Clara Mattick

As a nation, having a strong foriegn policy is more important than ever. From advancing our democracy and global interests, to promoting America's policies on a global scale, there is one idea that must be prioritized. Protecting our people at all costs. Our next president must implement international policies that not only advance our nation economically, politically and socially, but safeguard the United States and its people. This is exactly what running candidates Julia Swift and Amanda Davis plan to do.

Julia Swift’s foriegn policy plan is one that will put the people's best interest at hand to build a better America. Swift would “allow Congress to reassert its constitutional power to declare war, which would limit executive power.” Taking this step would reduce the amount of wars the United States fights in, utamantily decreasing the amount of deaths. Along with this our economy would benefit as we would be spending less money and saving funds for more prevalent issues.

Along with Swift, Amanda Davis has gained popularity in this election season through her use of social media, expressing her take on what the United States Foreign Policy should look like. Davis’s stance is strong, wanting to increase the availability of jobs for Americans in the United States, decreasing the need for China and other countries to manufacture our goods. Davis wants to implement the, “Buy American Campaign which over the course of the first four years of her presidency, will make at least 90% of the goods that are bought and sold by companies and people in America, American made.” Prioritizing the needs of Americans and creating more available jobs is necessary for the success of our country.

Julia Swift and Amanda Davis’s foreign policy statements are far superior to that of Maurice Mcdonald and Sarah Smith. They both plan to implement policies that put the best interests of Americas at hand.
