Finally, the general election results are in, and the results should warrant celebration: The Republicans have lost. Even after an extremely commendable effort and comeback from Maurice McDonald in the primary, which saw Sarah Smith lose by one vote, beating Amanda Davis in the general election was simply not meant to be for the McDonald campaign.
The Republican Primary was truly a sight to behold, with a result that would put movies to shame. McDonald won by one vote, as the electorate decided that pre-debate media collusion was more worthy of their vote than trying to colonize the moon.
While Republicans were deciding between an astronaut and a conman, the democratic primary between Amanda Davis and Julia Swift reminded of what had already been established after interest group endorsements: Davis is remarkably in-touch with the electorate, and America does not yet seem ready for an agenda as forward-thinking as that of the Swift campaign.
That brings us to a general election between Amanda Davis and Maurice McDonald. While this seems like a no-brainer for any mentally competent voters, the results were far closer than what was expected. Fortunately, however, Amanda Davis came away with 2 more swing states than McDonald, and thus the election was won.
As for where America goes next as a nation under Amanda Davis, look no further than her many comprehensive policies on healthcare, education, taxes, the environment, and much more. The future of America is in good hands under Amanda Davis.
