Which Candidate Has the Best Education Policies? It's Up to the American People to Decide

As the upcoming election comes closer, American citizens curiously comprehend the candidate's educational policies. In today’s day in age, education is crucial for thriving in any industry. The president of the United States has a large say in educational policies. Recently candidates have spread their educational platforms and we are here today to take a look at each one.


Sarah Smith, the Christian conservative candidate believes in a hands off approach in educational fields. Her support of all types of learning includes limited government interference in schools. Smith upholds the idea of school boards doing what is best for the students instead of an increase in government control in education. She strongly supports charter schools because of the freedom and competition that encompasses them. Smith establishes credibility as a candidate by using her educational background. She states that she was her graduating class Valedictorian boosting her reputation as intelligent and hardworking.


Julia Swift, a left leaning candidate advocates for leveling the playing field in educational opportunities and resources. Her plan entails investing in black universities, increasing educational support for special education students, increasing funding for public schools with low incomes, and abandoning student loan debt. Funds will be allocated from an increase of taxes on upper class citizens and a reappropriation of the U.S. military budget during peacetime. Swift aids the modification of school curriculums to accurately depict history and to increase representation of minority groups and figures.

The American Labor Party Candidate, Amanda Davis supports a universal preschool program to provide education starting at a young age to teach children the crucial social skills educational skills they need in life. She additionally advocates for free access to two years of community college, eliminating student loan debt, and raising the annual minimum public teacher salary. Davis displays her policies in a structured, organized way dividing each section to get the information across efficiently to her audience.


Maurice O’Donoghue, passionately states that his ideal nation is one where all students have equal access to education. He would work to establish a new program that would provide funds for poorer districts to improve school environments, build more schools, and improve the educational standards in certain areas. He believes that by giving funding for poorer schools, air conditioning, water, heating, and infrastructure can be improved, which would make the environment more suitable for students. O’Donoghue additionally states he will ensure all students have free access to AP Exams or SAT/ACT Exams.
